Hester hired as new golf coach FAYETTEVILLE---Kelley Hester became the third head coach for women's golf at the University of Arkansas it was announced at a press conference Monday.
"My husband and I are very excited to be here in Northwest Arkansas and to become a part of the athletic and academic community," Hester said Monday. "This is a family-oriented area with tremendous community support and I look forward to settling in here."
Hester started the UNLV program in 2001, signing back-to-back highly touted recruiting classes for the Rebels. She coached her freshman-dominated team to several solid performances this season. As a professional, Hester qualified for the 1996 U.S. Women's Open and played for two years on the Futures Golf Tour.

No. 55 SMU Upsets No. 46 Arkansas, 6-1 Mustangs Dominate to Capture First Victory of 2002 The No. 55 SMU women's tennis team pulled its first upset of the 2002 season, defeating No. 46 Arkansas, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at Haggar Tennis Stadium. The win was the first dual match win of the 2002 season for SMU, running its record to 1-1 on the year.
The Mustangs started off with a dominating performance by the No. 1 doubles team of Kit Carson and Jenny Langer, who won 8-0, and were followed by Siayareh Rambally and Allison Leuszler who won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles. Click Here to read all about this match.
SMU Women's 2001 Golf Schedule
DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU women's golf fall schedule was announced on Friday by SMU head coach Todd Selders. Four tournaments comprise the fall schedule. The schedule is as follows:
Yale Fall Classic (Sept. 22-23), New Haven, Ct.
Lady Razorback Classic (Oct. 1-2), Fayetteville, Ark.
Lady Trojan Golf Classic (Oct. 15-16), Little Rock, Ark.
Alabama Capstone Intercollegiate (Oct. 25-28), Tuscaloosa, Ala.
