Lone Star Park Update

UPDATED FEB. 8) As Lone Star Park's fifth Thoroughbred season nears we're keeping you updated on the world of Thoroughbred racing, both locally and nationally. Inside is news on Lone Star Park's off-season handicapping seminars and contests, the upcoming Thoroughbred meet which opens April 5, top horses around the country and the Triple Crown trail.

REMINDER:

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie's fifth Thoroughbred season will cover 15 weeks (74 days) from Thursday, April 5, through Sunday, July 15.

Key dates to remember: Opening Night (April 5), Lone Star Derby Day (April 7), Texas Mile Day (April 28), Kentucky Derby Day (May 5), X Trials (May 18-20), Preakness Stakes Day (May 19), Lone Star Million Day (May 28), Belmont Stakes Day (June 9), Dallas Turf Cup Day (June 16), NTRA All-Star Jockey Championship Night (June 22), Stars of Texas Day (June 30), Lone Stars & Stripes Festival and Fireworks Night (July 3) and Closing Night (July 15).
