What a Difference a Week Makes

Bobby Labonte's hopes of winning two weeks in a row were short-lived at Darlington Raceway today as Labonte was caught up in a seven-car accident on just lap 24.

"I think we could have been pretty decent today," explained Labonte. "I guess you never know, but we felt as though we made a lot of improvements to the car in yesterday's Happy Hour and we were just going to go out and race the track today and see what happened."

NASCAR needs to move Texas Date

It's that time of year again where the annual RV pilgrimage to the Texas Motor Speedway takes place. That also means this is the time of year when the weather in North Texas is at its absolute worst.

This is the fifth year that Nascar has brought its annual event to Texas. The race at TMS has taken place the first weekend of April, except in 1999 due to the Easter holiday and it was moved up to the last weekend of March. Five years now and every year has been plagued in one way or another by rain, cold, and wintry conditions. More...

Grant Lynch is president of Talladega Superspeedway. That's just one title of several. Lynch has become a major player in the motorsports industry, overseeing the operations of the two new tracks that will come on the Winston Cup schedule next season.
